Discipleship Groups

Looking for intentional discipleship and accountability in your walk with God? Joining a D-Group is a great place to start! These are gender-based groups of 3-5 members who commit to spending a year together meeting once a week to pray, share what God has taught them in Scripture, hold each other accountable, and support one another. We believe that Jesus, In Mathew 28:19-20, has called all Christians to be disciples and to make disciples. Our groups commit to a year of discipleship, then form new groups to start the discipleship process over again. Talk about a snowball effect for the Kingdom! If you are interested in learning more about D-Groups and how to get involved, please fill out the form below and one of our staff members will get in touch!

Learn More About D-Groups

What is a D-Group?

Discipleship groups are gender-based groups of 3-5 members who commit to spending a year together, meeting weekly to pray, sharing from H.E.A.R. journals what God has taught them from Scripture, hold each other accountable, and support one another.

Why are D-Groups important?

Discipleship is simply defined as “Walking with Christ”. We believe that Jesus, in Mathew 28:19-20, has called all Christian’s to be disciples and to make disciples. We think D-Groups are a great way for us to help fulfill this great Commission and further our relationship with God and one another.

How do D-Groups form?

Here at Bridgeway, we want our D-Groups to form organically. Be in prayer about who God would want you to be in intentional discipleship with. If you aren’t sure who to be in a group with, you can also reach out to Perry Pugh, our Discipleship Pastor, for guidance and help.

Where do D-Groups meet?

D-Groups meet weekly in a location decided by the group. Many groups meet at homes, coffee shops, or at the church.

How long is the discipleship process?

Each group will meet for one year. At the end of the year, the members are expected to go and invite 2-3 other people and start the discipleship process over again.

What is a H.E.A.R. Journal?

The acronym H.E.A.R. stands for Highlight, Explain, Apply, and Respond. This is the method we use to guide D-Groups! Each of these four steps help build an atmosphere to hear God speak. After choosing a Scripture reading plan, you will be ready to HEAR from God!
